After graduating from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1995 with a bachelor's degree in Communication Arts & Design, Amy began her career at The Martin Agency - one of the country's top advertising agencies.

She was hired as an Interactive Designer working on Coca-Cola's very first website. Over the years, Amy grew from a web designer in the Interactive Department to an Arts Director and Creative Director in the Creative Department where she created many award-winning integrated advertising campaigns for big brands like UPS, Hanes, Barely There Bras, Walmart, Moen and others.

After 20 years of working at The Martin Agency, Amy decided it was time for a change. She left the agency in 2015 and began teaching at VCU's Brandcenter.

In 2017, Amy founded her own small ad agency, Creative Arm. It was an era of growth as Amy nurtured young creatives, helped develop and grow small brands, and pursued her entrepreneurial spirit.

In 2020, Creative Arm had to stop offering advertising and branding services so Amy could focus on her mother's healthcare full time.

Always needing a creative outlet, Amy began painting old, upholstered chairs, and turning them into art. Creative Arm Chairs are one-of-a-kind statement pieces for your room. Creative Arm loves to collaborate, so let us know if you have something special you want to make.

While Amy's currently taking custom orders for Creative Arm Chairs, she's also dabbling in some other projects. Always looking for new ways to stretch her creative muscle, you never know what Creative Arm will make next.
